Expressive Therapy Consultant

Lora is a mom, a music psychotherapist, a teacher of the Deaf, and the founding director of Baby Fingers. For over 24 years, she has provided support to NYC area families and others both in person and virtually. A Certified Educator of Infant Massage, she also provides opportunities for parents and infants to bond through therapeutic touch. Lora has been a Clinical Coordinator and Adjunct Instructor in Music Therapy at Molloy University for the past 13 years. As part of the ‘Molloy Mission,’ she spent time in Jamaica providing music therapy to teen girls / ‘at-risk youth’ in a Kingston area safe house. Lora’s Reflections on Practice was published in Voices: A World Forum for Music Therapy in Summer 2021. You can also find her podcast in imagine early childhood music therapy online journal about her work with Peter, a young child with Fragile X Syndrome who used ASL as a primary means to communicate. The first time he ever said ‘mom’ was via sign at age 3 when his mom participated in a music therapy session at home. With experience in the NICU, DV shelters, adolescent outpatient psychiatry, and pediatric hospice, Lora’s passion is empowering individual growth and the parent/child bond.
